POSITION SUMMARY
Implement, support global supplier development strategies and performance to ensure flawless launches of new programs.
Lead the APQP process, coordinate technical reviews, and develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements.
Conduct supplier quality training at the suppliers and drive performance improvements at the suppliers to meet the quality objectives.

KEY PERFORMANCE

• Lead APQP process as part of new product launches.
• Coordinate technical reviews and assessments.
• Develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements.
• Conduct Supplier Quality training.
• Drive performance improvements to the established objectives.
• Coordinate cross functional for technical problem resolution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supplier Vetting

• Assess the supplier capability by utilizing BW supplier assessment tools
• Recommendation to the supplier development manager/director for making the right new supplier vetting.

Supplier APQP

• Assist in identifying “high impact” Suppliers

• Visit new/resourced and/or “high impact” Suppliers to ensure APQP progress/process integrity.
• Serve as a roadblock remover to ensure APQP target dates are successfully met.
• Proactively work with Suppliers to minimize and/or eliminate Launch issues.
• Report Supplier APQP progress/problems to BW Launch Team

Supplier PPAP Submissions

• Review and make disposition on Supplier PPAP submissions.

• Assure PPAP timing remains on track and meets Launch timing.

• Update/communicate PPAP timing to Launch Team members.

• Ensuring all PPAP requirements are met and documentation is up to date.

Supplier Audit

• Conduct Supplier Audits to ensure the supplier’s quality system are maintained properly.

Supplier Quality Training

• Conduct Supplier Quality Training to meet BorgWarner’s and/or Customer’s specific Quality expectations/requirements

Safety & Health  

• Ensure BW safety & Health policy are followed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONS

• Bachelor's degree/Master ‘s degree in Engineering 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of product integration engineering experience/or quality management experience in wafer fab—front end process preferred.
• Understand general semiconductor backend processes and quality management
• Able to drive the semiconductor supplier process optimization, quality improvement, with advanced problem solving tools and statistical tools ( DPAT, SYL, SBL, etc).
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA, QS-9000 requirements.
• Understand AIQG core tools ( APQP, PPAP, FMEA,SPC, MSA)
• 6 sigma or Shainin problem solving certification is preferred.

COMMUNICATION/COMPUTER SKILL

• Effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts.
• Proficient at developing trip reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from Management and/or Customers.
• Fluent English speaking.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
