BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Supervisor CAE Engineering for Mechanical Development of eDrive Systems including eMotor and gearbox. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of CAE engineers simulating electric driveline systems (using tools like MASTA / ROMAX and FEA), analysing lubrication and thermal behaviour (using tools like ANSYS) as well as analysing structural and NVH design (using tools like EMOSYS, ANSYS) for driveline system and eMotors. As supervisor you will lead, guide and coach your team. At same time you still will work as simulation expert in one of the above listed simulation domains and you will bring a solid understanding of all other domains to your teams as well.

Job purpose

Key responsibilities 

 

Leadership: 

  • Lead, guide, train and coach a team of CAE engineers in the development of eDrive systems, encompassing eMotors, gearboxes, and their mechanical integration together with Inverter. 

  • Develop and grow the team competency to a high performing organization. 

  • Define and lead measures to improve engineering work efficiency. 

Technical Oversight: 

  • Implement standards in the simulation work process in accordance with our Engineering Development Framework (EDF). Work with your team on continuous improvement of our processes, methods and tools. 

  • Reviews of any technical document prior to release in our data systems. 

  • Drive team to simulate mechanical system and components in compliance with our process and methods. 

  • Ensure that design meets performance, durability, and manufacturability requirements. 

  • Develop and implement simulation infrastructure in alignment with our global IT. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Develop an open and collaborative team culture and ensure global strong cooperation with our CAE engineering teams at other technical centres globally. 

  • Work closely with all other engineering and non-engineering functions to ensure teams are well connected and driving towards safe and flawless launch of our products. 

  • Prepare and present high-level work status and plans for organizational development to senior management and other stakeholders. 

Innovation and Problem Solving: 

  • Drive innovation in mechanical design to enhance the performance and efficiency of eDrive systems. 

  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the development process. 

  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in simulation processes and methodologies. 

  • Document and implement lessons learned from current and past programs. 

Quality and Compliance: 

  • Ensure that designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. 

  • Maintain rigorous documentation per BorgWarner PDP and EDF. 

What we are looking for 

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or related field. 

  • At least 8 years of experience in simulation of complex mechanical systems within the automotive or related industry 

  • Proven experience in one of above listed simulation domains 

  • Proven experience in leading teams or larger size of project teams 

  • Proven experience in working with global organizations 

Preferred Requirements 

  • Masters or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field 

  • Expert in one of above simulation domains 

  • English language skills on level C1
