BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Materials Planner at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the PC&L Manager, will be responsible for leading and maintaining the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 management systems in operation, including the processes applicable to compliance with energy and environmental controls, through the identification, evaluation and monitoring of improvement actions, managing the identification of environmental aspects and impacts, including those related to energy, in addition to monitoring compliance with legal requirements and other requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Responsible for following system requirements, analyzing material coverage, determining material shortfalls for production. • Filling out requested reports on Material shorts with transit dates and coverage analysis. • Effective communication with the materials programming area to ensure correct programming when a material shortage is detected. • Sending releases with firm orders on a weekly basis according to the defined date, ensuring release receipt by the supplier. • Responsible for monitoring the inventory level on a monthly basis according to the defined objective. • Responsible for tracking supplier shipments (air, overseas, ground). Tracking concludes once the material is delivered online. • It is the responsibility of the materials planner to ensure on-time delivery on the production line by following up with the different support areas and reporting any problem that could cause a delay in the delivery of the parts. (e.g. engineering changes, material inspections, etc.). • Responsible for requesting expedited shipments from suppliers if they are in low shipment. If a refusal is received from the supplier, it is reported to the Manager and meetings are held with the supplier to obtain the recovery plan and the GSM team is involved if required. • Responsible for reporting material shortages in time when receiving any notification of force majeure from the supplier, following up on it and involving the necessary departments for support. If any movement of material outside the standard is required, it must be deliver the short analysis and define the responsibility for the cost of material movement. • Responsible for providing material transits of some number with impact for the filling of the recovery plan by programming, as well as monitoring supplier recovery with follow-up meetings. • Responsible for keeping the SAP system clean with current information for the correct generation of releases to the supplier. • Review of safety stocks (monthly) and if any abnormality is detected in the defined parameters, review and modify the information for the correct request to the supplier. • Responsible for reducing and avoiding premium freight in accordance with the established goal. • Support for Engineering changes • Responsible for keeping material available in stock to keep production lines running, tracking material blocked for disposal. • Follow-up on reports of supplier discrepancies. • Follow-up on all issues that may cause a stoppage in supplier shipments, for example lack of invoice payments, if there are supplier reports. • Responsible for generating an expedited request if necessary with the analysis and filling out of the expedited request form.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration. Length of experience in a similar position: 2 years of planning experience, desirable. Technical knowledge required: Knowledge of the MRP process and planning environment, Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing process and supply chain. Other requirements: Microsoft Office, SAP
