BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as EHS&S Engineer at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the Supervisor EHS.

Will be responsible for leading and maintaining the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 management systems in operation, including the processes applicable to compliance with energy and environmental controls, through the identification, evaluation and monitoring of improvement actions, managing the identification of environmental aspects and impacts, including those related to energy, in addition to monitoring compliance with legal requirements and other requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Provide support to sustain Safety, Health and Environment management systems based on ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards respectively, including: development, implementation control and continuous improvement of said systems.

• Promote compliance with the safety and environment policy.

• Coordinator of internal audits of management systems.

• Monitoring of the annual training plan on environmental, safety and health matters.

• Comply with and supervise the controls established to prevent: accidents, work incidents and impacts on the environment.

• Review compliance with applicable legal requirements regarding Safety, Health and Environment.

• Management and monitoring of procedures, studies and analysis required for legal compliance with safety, health and the environment.

• Management and administration of the hazardous and non-hazardous waste warehouse.

• Support in the attention of external audits, corporate, government institutions and/or clients regarding Safety and Environment management systems.

• Monitoring of aircraft and EHS&S programs.

• Support on issues related to asset security.

• Monitoring of preventive and corrective actions for Safety, Health and Environment.

• Provide advice on investigations of accidents/incidents/work-related illnesses and follow-up on corrective actions.

• Support in the integration of emergency brigades.

• Serve as an instructor on safety and environmental issues.

• Stop processes in case of deviations.

• Actively participate in the Annual Final Inventory.

• Actively and enthusiastically participate in DE&I and plant engagement activities.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

• Education: Industrial, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or similar • Time of experience in a similar position: 3 years • Technical knowledge required:

• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

• Internal auditor in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 • Industrial safety and environmental systems • Regulations of: Environment, Safety and industrial hygiene, NOM's. • Legal procedures before Federal, State and Municipal Government Institutions • Accident investigation and prevention • Ergonomics • EHS&S risk management

• Other requirements: Microsoft Office, Internal Instructor.
